TMNT - :The Burden of Leonardo:

Fanart Friday for February 15, 2013. (see below how YOU can join in!).

Soooooo… I’m obsessed with Leo – you know, just in case you missed out on the last few TMNT pics I've uploaded and somehow skimmed over me pointing out how obsessed with the leader in blue I am. I have lots of doodles of Leo in my sketchbook, and this was actually one I started and wasn’t going to finish. It was supposed to have April in it, leaning on Leo, supporting each other after the loss of their fathers (I drew this immediately after the episode I, Monster),but April was NOT TURNING OUT. Ew. So I erased her and just inked this with just Leo and left it. Then I saw New Girl In Town. There was a line in it Karai mutters to Leo about him always being the goody-three-toes, and then it striking a nerve with Leo (it's around 11:40 in the episode… NERD. ). Just, the whole episode is brilliant, because it deals with the others (as well as Leo) coming to realize the burden that their brother carries is not a light one.

Anyway, so this pic CONVENIENTLY also looked like it was Leo struggling with his inner turmoil (angst! yay!) and decided that yes, I fully intended on drawing it that way. Once I coloured and scanned it in, I really wanted to add more… MOOD to the pic, which I usually don’t do by hand unless I intend for it. Yeah, I only decided once I scanned it that it needed more, so using my handy-dandy tablet and PHOTOSHOP FILTERS OMG, I was able to convey MORE emotion in the pic! YAY! So proud of me! GO ME! Hah hah. I can still see a million and one things wrong with this one, but I won’t point them out because, actually, I really like this one. Seems working with my tablet is improving my PS skills. Hah. So, here you are, it’s Leo, brooding. Because I can never draw too much Leo, and quite frankly expresses how I've been feeling for the last long while. And I need some more TMNT fanart. Hee.
